Shola Shoretire has written a farewell message to Manchester United, thanking the club for helping achieve his dream of representing the club at senior level.
The record-breaking United academy graduate is set to join Greece side PAOK.
Shoretire became the youngest-ever player to make a European appearance for United in 2021, having played in a scoreless draw with Real Sociedad.
He made a total of five senior appearances for United and the most recent came in the final game of the 2022/23 Premier League season, when he featured for 15 minutes against Crystal Palace. The 20-year has since gone on loan to Bolton but he will look to rejuvenate his career in Greece.
Taking to Instagram, Shoretire wrote:“I joined Manchester United as an 11 year old boy with a dream of one day playing in the first team. I feel extremely proud to be able to say I have achieved that dream. To make it even more special, I was given the opportunity to represent this club in the premier league and in Europe.
“I’ll forever be grateful to the many players, staff members and supporters who have played a massive part in my journey to this point. From the first day I arrived at the cliff training ground, I have felt at home and part of the MUFC family.
“It’s been a tough decision for me to leave somewhere that’s been all I’ve known for half of my life but i believe this is the right step for me.”

This led to an array of reactions from players Shoretire considered team-mates during his time at United. Mason Greenwood replied with a clapping emoji while Teden Mengi added: “Go and het it lil pro, I’m proud of you.”

The deal to PAOK hasn’t been confirmed yet but it looks set in stone.
Shoretire was spotted arriving in Greece earlier today.
