Amad Diallo wants to stay at Manchester United for the rest of his life

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo took questions from reporters at the pre-match press conference in San Diego, ahead of our next pre-season friendly against Real Betis.

Unlike the usual pre-match format, United confirmed that manager Erik ten hag would not make an appearance in front of the media.

Ten Hag left the responsibility to Amad, who he recently laid out a challenge to ahead of the new season.

The Ivorian winger said he would be happy to stay at United “all my life”, which is a big commitment to suggest he is happy to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

Amad was asked how often he’s watched his goal against Liverpool, prompting the reply (via Manchester Evening News): “Yeah, so many times. That goal was the most important goal of my life.

“I was very happy to score that goal. Even now, I can’t believe it.”

The pre-season tour grants Amad an opportunity to impress Ten Hag and his coaches. We already know Ten Hag is demanding more from the forward next season, and it’s a good time to step up as he will be seemingly fighting off competition from the likes of Antony and Jadon Sancho.

To his credit, Amad has been one of the positives from pre-season thus far. Most fans I know want to see him given more opportunities next season.

Amad is expected to start against Real Betis on Wednesday.
