Video: Joshua Zirkzee reports to Carrington to kickstart pre-season training with Manchester United

Manchester United’s first recruit of the summer, Joshua Zirkzee, reported to Carrington today to begin his pre-season training with the club.

Of course, the forward was omitted from the pre-season squad – along with several other Reds – due to his participation at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands, which saw him reach the semi-final stage.

Zirkzee was used sporadically at the tournament, so will undoubtedly be hoping to hit the ground running in the Premier League and get some invaluable minutes under his belt.

He may be in line to start the Community Shield final or the opening fixture of the campaign, too, given that counterpart Rasmus Hojlund was substituted with an apparent hamstring injury during Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal.

The 23-year-old notched 12 goals and seven assists in his final season with Bologna.
