“I’m hearing good things” – Mitten relays positive feedback on Manchester United star who struggled last season

Marcus Rashford is looking to fire back at his critics after a difficult 2023/24 season.

Last season the England international managed just eight goals last season, but recorded his best tally yet (30 goals) the previous season.

The 26-year-old’s form meant he missed out on a place in the England squad for Euro 2024. This allowed Rashford to return for pre-season on day one to prepare for a bounce-back campaign.

Rashford has played in two of the first three pre-season matches, missing the win over Rangers at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. He provided a stunning assist for Rasmus Hojlund against Arsenal.

In a car park opposite the SoFi Stadium, Andy Mitten revealed his notes from the game, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for United – but we won the post-match penalty shootout.

The United We Stand fanzine editor explained that he is hearing good things about Rashford ahead of the new season.

Mitten told the United We Stand YouTube channel: “He’s been sharp in pre-season. He did OK [vs Arsenal], he assisted the opening goal.

“I’m hearing good things about him. And I’ve not heard good things about him since pre-season 2022.

“And I get that we are really early on, the season’s not even started, but I’m relaying what I’m hearing about him, and it’s positive.”
