United now ‘advancing’ in negotiations for their third arrival of the summer, claims transfer expert

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on their third signing of the summer, which is poised to be another addition to the backline.

While speculation strongly suggests that the club must first sanction Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival before welcoming a new right-back, it certainly hasn’t stopped United’s attempts to get a deal lined up.

West Ham, having seen their move for Noussair Mazraoui fall through, have now put the blinkers on in pursuit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is said to be assessing his options before his contract expires next June.

In turn, the Irons’ loss could well turn into United’s gain, as INEOS chiefs were quickly prompted to approach Mazaraoui after it became clear he wouldn’t be making the switch to the London Stadium.

The Bayern Munich fullback is keen to reunite with former coach Erik ten Hag, and any potential transfer would see him join United’s ex-Ajax contingent of Andre Onana, Antony and Lisandro Martinez – all of which played under the Dutchman in Amsterdam.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth claims the two European giants are now ‘advancing’ in negotiations – accurate as of 10.41pm on Saturday night.

Reports have suggested that the Reds are targeting a double raid at Bayern as they hope to land both the Moroccan international and centre-half target Matthijs de Ligt.
