Marcus Rashford’s Range Rover hit by ‘drink driver’; collision left team-mate hospitalised

Tyrell Malacia was hospitalised after being involved in a collision while travelling in team-mate Marcus Rashford’s Range Rover, although it is understood that neither player was driving the vehicle.

A suspected drink-driver crashed into Rashford’s car, which meant Malacia required checks in hospital, according to The Sun.

Rashford was in a separate vehicle behind the Range Rover was hit by a black Mercedes.

The driver of the Ranger Rover was hospitalised along with Malacia.

Police were called to the scene in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and the driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Malacia was later cleared at the hospital and both players trained the following day.

The collision occurred on July 16 and Rashford was handed a six-month driving ban two days later for doing 104mph in his Rolls-Royce on the M60 in December 2023.

Rashford is currently in Los Angeles with his United team-mates as they prepare for the new season. The England international struggled on and off the pitch last term, but now is the time to turn things around.

The new season will be a fresh start for Rashford.

One player who is not in LA is Malacia.

The left-back missed the entirety of last season with a knee injury and he is likely to miss the start of the new season with the same injury. Unless he is moved on.
