Manchester United enter talks with agent for double swoop

Manchester United are trying to add more talented players to the squad this summer.

The Reds have already made two signings following the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. By signing those two years, you can tell that the aim for the team is to have a young core.

These are signings that will help United build for the future.

According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, United have entered talks with agent Rafaela Pimenta for a double swoop.

Despite bringing in Yoro at centre-back, United are still interested in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

However, the Netherlands international isn’t the only Bayern player linked with a move to Old Trafford. Noussair Mazraoui is the other option at right-back.

It is understood that United have begun negotiations for the Bayern pair.

Mazraoui is thought to be keen on reuniting with Erik ten Hag at United, amid links to West Ham earlier this week. That signing will depend on whether or not Aaron Wan-Bissaka can be sold.

Who is Rafaela Pimenta?

In April 2022, arguably the world’s most famous football agent passed away.

Mino Raiola, 54, died at San Raffaele hospital in Milan after suffering from a serious illness. It led to tributes from some of the biggest names in football, including players he represented.

The players he worked with included: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhtaryan. A trio that all joined United in 2016 when Ed Woodward decided to do most of his business through Raiola.

However, his sidekick for over 20 years is now running the empire.

Rafaela Pimenta is a Brazilian lawyer who would run through the paperwork of deals involving Raiola’s players. She was also close to players and their families, and involved in strategic decision-making.

Reports in Italy described Pimenta has the “heiress” following Raiola’s death.

  1. As mentioned, Mazraoui has had his injury issues, and the same can be said for De Ligt. United should stay clear of both players and seek to buy those that are not likely to add to the workload of the Old Trafford medical team.

Gonçalo Inacio of Sporting (Portugal) would be a good addition to the United centre defence ranks. A young, left footer and probably available for a fee of around £40,million.

That said, with Everton unlikely (due to financial constraints) able to match the contract the United have offered Branthwaite, his transfer could re surface if United were to offer them Lindelof or Maguire as a sweetener?

Monaco could also sell Vanderson to United. An young, attack minded Brazilian right wing back, again available for a fee that United would deem acceptable.

However, those transfers should come after United have improved their defensive midfield position. Deals for Ugarte, Fofana, Huljmund must be pushed so that United have at least one on board and training with teammates before the season starts
