Revealed: How Jadon Sancho’s unexpected United return has played out inside Carrington

When all signs were pointing towards the exit for Jadon Sancho heading into the summer window, he was surprisingly reintegrated into the first-team squad.

Yet, there remain doubts over whether he will be a Manchester United player by the time deadline day rolls around.

Sancho has still been linked with a host of clubs since resuming training a fortnight ago, primarily Paris Saint-Germain who, above the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, are thought to be the only side which could financially sanction his signing.

United, while not actively looking to shift the 24-year-old, will presumably accept a suitable bid should it arrive. He is not guaranteed a starting role under Erik ten Hag next term, and senior figures will be well aware that the money he recuperates could be put to better use elsewhere.

He has been included in the manager’s 29-man selection for the tour of the United States after featuring in last Saturday’s 2-0 friendly win over Rangers in Edinburgh, with club chiefs hoping he can finally reach a level of form that justifies his £73 million price tag.

United staff pleased to see Sancho back in high spirits

In terms of Sancho reporting back to Carrington, insiders say (via Mail Sport) that it’s like ‘he has never been away’. A ‘bubbly character’ with a ‘good sense of humour’, the attacker is said to have a ‘positive influence on those around him’. There are hopes it can stay this way whether he stays in the coming weeks or is sold.

Much has been made of the fact that he is yet to acknowledge his United return on social media, as both his X (Twitter) and Instagram accounts only display pictures of his time on loan with Dortmund.

However, he certainly looked in high spirits when captured posing alongside close friend Marcus Rashford in a video shared by club media on Thursday evening, so perhaps outsiders shouldn’t get so caught up in his posting activity – or lack thereof.
