Football agent believes Sofyan Amrabat could return to Manchester United

Sofyan Amrabat spent last season on loan at Manchester United and there is a possibility he could return to the club on a permanent deal.

It is no secret that United are looking for midfield reinforcements this summer. Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte is the primary target, but the Reds could look towards cheaper options too.

Amrabat spent last season at Old Trafford, after joining on a season-long loan from Fiorentina.

The Morocco international made 30 appearances in all competitions and impressed towards the end of the campaign. His best performance came in the 2-1 win against Man City in the FA Cup final.

United refused to exercise the £16.8 million purchase option in his contract, but it is understood that Amrabat is still under consideration as Ten Hag plans to bolster his midfield options.

Football agent Giulio Tedeschi believes there is a ‘concrete possibility’ that Amrabat will return to United this summer on a permanent basis.

Speaking to Firenze Viola, Tedeschi said: “Right now, in my opinion there is a concrete possibility of bringing Amrabat back to Manchester United. In my opinion there was some doubt also because it was not known whether Ten Hag would stay. Now that it’s certain that he will stay, there are grounds to think about bringing Amrabat back even on loan with obligation, or at a lower figure. The United solution is the easiest. I believe Amrabat’s renewal with Fiorentina until 2026 was done deliberately to help La Viola gain strength. It’s a tactic that clubs do to gain bargaining power. If it’s not €20m (£16.8m), it won’t even be €10m (£8.4m). It will be a mid-range figure, trying to maximise his sale.”

It remains to be seen how much Fiorentina are willing to accept for Amrabat’s signature this summer. I wouldn’t say no to bringing him back if we can secure a deal for less than £10m.

Amrabat wouldn’t be against joining another Premier League if United overlook him this summer.
