Despite burying the hatchet with Erik ten Hag a fortnight ago, Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United remains up in the air.
The 24-year-old has found himself linked with a host of clubs since his loan spell with Borussia Dortmund expired last month, although few teams are able to meet United’s £40 million valuation – a fee which, in itself, sees the Reds take a £23m hit on what they forked out for him in 2021.
This week, Paris Saint-Germain emerged as a surprise name in the mix in pursuit of Sancho. They’re yet to step up their efforts by formally submitting a bid, but reporter Santi Aouna has claimed the player would be ‘excited’ by the prospect of a Parc des Princes switch.
United may ultimately decide to keep the player at Old Trafford, though. Last season’s unprecedented injury crisis only highlighted the need for adequate squad depth across the pitch, so his availability wouldn’t go amiss during the jam-packed campaign.

Wherever Sancho is playing his football come deadline day, Michael Owen is of the belief that the Englishman would’ve been more comfortable at Old Trafford this summer had Ten Hag been sacked by INEOS chiefs when the term ended.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his confidantes did conduct a lengthy assessment of the manager’s tenure before deciding in June that he’d be kept in the dugout long-term.
“Jadon Sancho took a really risky move in many ways, but almost an unavoidable one in going back to where he was to try to reignite that spark, and he’s done particularly well,” Owen told Prime Casino, as cited by The Mirror.
“I’m sure he probably would have preferred there to have been a change of manager at Old Trafford, so it was a clean slate, and he could come back and hopefully start again.
“I don’t know what his future holds, but he’s certainly gone away and proven that he can still cut it at the top level.”
