Euro giants ‘explore conditions’ of move for ‘gifted’ United ace who’s ‘excited’ by interest

Despite reconciling with Erik ten Hag a fortnight ago, Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United remains entirely uncertain.

The player is heading into what will be his fourth season at Old Trafford, having only made three appearances in 2023/2024 prior to his notorious fallout with Ten Hag.

Then, after three months spent exiled from all first-team action, he completed a move away at the earliest opportunity by returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Sancho’s performances across his temporary spell caught the eye of a host of potential suitors. In particular, his showings in both Champions League semi-final legs against Paris Saint-Germain seemingly prompted the state-backed giants to consider an approach for the 24-year-old this summer.

Last month, ex-Dortmund boss Edin Terzic hailed the substantial impact he made in such a short space of time at the club, declaring (via the Metro): “I think [in] the last six months, Jadon has been brilliant for us.

“It took some time to get back into shape, but you can feel this quality and his skills. He’s going to improve our game straight away. He didn’t improve just his game but all the players around him. He is a player who has never thought about his first touch – it is so natural, and he is very gifted.”

PSG arguably favourites if Sancho leaves Old Trafford this summer

Still seeking prolific forwards to fill their Kylian Mbappe-sized hole, PSG have reportedly ‘explored the conditions’ of a move for Sancho (Sky Sports). Juventus, Dortmund and one unnamed Premier League club have also privately established their interest, although it’s improbable any could compete with the Ligue 1 champions financially.

United are, however, unlikely to recuperate anywhere near the £73 million fee they paid for him back in 2021 – a price tag that he is yet to justify in a red shirt.

Meanwhile, Sancho is said to be ‘excited’ (Santi Aouna) by the prospect of a transfer away from Manchester before deadline day. Not only will there be lingering resentment between him and Ten Hag – as well as some supporters – he is still not a guaranteed starter, so embarking on a new venture after three years may best suit all parties.
