Almost 20,000 tickets available for Manchester United vs Arsenal pre-season friendly

Manchester United’s pre-season friendly clash against Arsenal in Los Angeles this Saturday has almost 20,000 tickets available.

The cost of these tours are significant but what we are seeing is a backlash from steep ticketing pricing, and it’s exactly what the club deserves.

Fans in the US paid a premium price to watch a United team full of youths take on Wrexham last year. They clearly haven’t forgotten about that even though this time the game will feature more first-team players, including new signing Leny Yoro.

United take on Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium before facing Liverpool in Philadelphia next Wednesday in the second match of our US pre-season tour.

According to the Daily Mail, the circa 70,000 capacity stadium for United vs Arsenal, 51,000 tickets have been sold.

This comes down to the prices. For example, the cheapest ticket at face value will set you back $126 (£97) and reach up to $667 (£516).

Imagine how much they would charge if they were able to take competitive fixtures from English football to the US. It’s a concern many of us have for the future.
