Man United ready to consider move for Premier League striker if his price tag drops

Manchester United are looking sign another striker even after already completing the signing of Joshua Zirkzee.

The Red Devils have no intention to stop any time soon in the transfer window this summer as they are actively looking for deals to strengthen the quality of the squad and improve the caliber of the players.

Having already signed Zirkzee and defender Leny Yoro, the Red Devils are now looking for more fresh faces to provide Erik ten Hag the best opportunity to challenge for trophies next season.

According to GiveMeSport, Man United are set to consider a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

The England international has been linked with a move away from Brentford all summer.

He has entered the final year of his contract at the club and a number of Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on him.

The report has mentioned that Man United are willing to move for Toney this summer if his price tag drops below £40million.

The striker is unlikely to stay at Brentford as his wage demands are too high for them and clubs in the top half of the Premier League table are chasing his signature.

Ivan Toney to Man United?

Toney wants a new and improved offer of £250,000-per-week at his new club and in order to sign him, the Red Devils have held talks.

He spent a part of last season out of the team as he was serving his ban for breaking betting rules.

Following his return to the side, Toney failed to find his form and struggled towards the end of the season.

Should Man United sign Ivan Toney?

Despite his poor showing, he was selected by Gareth Southgate for England’s squad for Euro 2024 and made a positive impact in some of the matches after coming off the bench.

The striker has shown his goal scoring ability in the Premier League by scoring 36 goals in 85 appearances, showing that he has what it takes to shine at the top level.

United have already signed Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund is expected to become even better next season.

Signing another striker improves the attacking arsenal but it might divide the playing time all three strikers will get and investing that money towards a new midfielder or a full-back would make more sense.

  1. Another striker would be good; remember the golden days of Yorke and Cole off, OGS and Sheringham on.
