Erik ten Hag believes Bayern Munich star could help unlock struggling attacker

Manchester United are looking to sign a new right-back this summer.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui in recent days.

Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to sell Mazraoui for £17-21 million but it is understood that United must sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka before making a move for the 26-year-old right-back.

According to The Times, Erik ten Hag believes that Mazraoui could help unlock the potential of Antony, who has struggled to settle in his first two years at United.

Mazraoui previously played behind Antony on the right-flank for Ajax when Ten Hag was in charge of the Eredivisie giants.

However, it has been suggested that Antony could leave United if the right offer comes in this summer.

United are naïve if they think anyone will make a decent offer for the underwhelming Brazilian winger. He has flopped since joining United and the only realistic offers we can expect are for loan deals.

Antony has scored 11 goals and recorded five assists in the 82 appearances he has made for United since he joined from Ajax for £85m in 2022.

Reports on Tuesday claim that United could accept as little as £10m for Wan-Bissaka.

If that helps us secure an upgrade like Mazraoui, we should get Wan-Bissaka moved on as soon as possible. It’s a no brainer.
