Shock developments as PSG now ‘close’ to agreeing terms with £250k p/w United man who’s featured in pre-season

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ‘close’ to agreeing personal terms with Jadon Sancho as Luis Enrique scours the market for the final pieces of his puzzle post-Kylian Mbappe.

As such, PSG have seemingly landed on the Manchester United star, who has only recently returned to the first-team setup following his notorious and widely-covered spat with Erik ten Hag last September.

The fallout between the pair saw Sancho banished from the squad’s facilities, as well as completely exiled from training and matches.

He proceeded to complete a move away at the earliest opportunity, signing for former club Borussia Dortmund on loan in the January window. The 24-year-old did look considerably more confident than he had at Old Trafford since signing in 2021 but was still a shadow of his former self in Germany.

21 appearances in total saw Sancho notch three goals and three assists in all competitions, with his final outing causing heartache as Dortmund fell to a 2-0 Champions League final defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.

PSG accelerate efforts to sign Sancho

It’s thought that his performances in both legs of the semi-finals against PSG caught the eye of club officials, prompting them to try their luck in hashing out a deal with United, who are willing to negotiate.

The Ligue 1 giants are still actively searching for a suitable Mbappe successor, although it’ll likely take more than one player to fill the gaping void he left.

Reporter Santi Aouna of Footmercato has revealed this morning that the attacker is ‘extremely excited’ by the prospect of playing for PSG. However, given that Sancho has only just made amends with Ten Hag, it’s unknown whether United would sanction a sale at this stage.
