PSG express interest in signing Manchester United’s most influential player

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have been involved in negotiations with Manchester United throughout the summer transfer window.

A lot of the talks are believed to have been in regard to PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte. There have also been whispers about Jadon Sancho potentially moving to Paris, but I’ll believe that when I see it.

United are also interested in PSG playmaker Xavi Simons, who impressed playing for the Netherlands at Euro 2024. The Dutch star spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig and has been strongly linked with a return to the Bundesliga.

However, a new report from L’Equipe throws United captain Bruno Fernandes into the mix as one of PSG’s transfer targets this summer.

Fernandes, 29, has been United’s most influential player since he moved to Old Trafford in January 2020. He has recorded 79 goals and 66 assists in just 233 games for United. His record speaks for itself, even though the Portuguese Magnifico wasn’t at his best last season.

It would be a huge blow to lose Fernandes this summer.

The Independent previously reported that Bayern Munich were interested in Fernandes and believed they could convince him to join their project due to “frustrations” he had at United. It was suggested at the time that United would be willing to do a deal if the price was right.

I think Fernandes would be mad to leave United now, especially when things are finally starting to look up. The club are acting like they should in the transfer market and Fernandes should be focused on being the driving force behind the team next term. Not thinking about moving to Paris to Bavaria.

It would take a huge transfer fee and PSG have yet to put their money where they mouth is…

With so many players being linked between PSG and United this summer, I’m intrigued to see if an exchange deal takes place.
