Manchester United confirm line-up vs Rangers: Yoro & Sancho start

Erik ten Hag has named his Manchester United starting line-up to face Rangers in Edinburgh, with Leny Yoro set to appear in the side for the first time.

The match will be shown live on MUTV with kick-off scheduled for 4 pm. Both teams go into the game after losing their initial pre-season friendly, but it’s really just another opportunity for players to get more minutes on the pitch.

Yoro starts in the heart of defence, wearing his new no. 15 shirt, after training for the first time with his new team-mates on Friday at Carrington.

The team is a mixture of youth and experience, with key personnel yet to return for pre-season preparation due to involvement in major international tournaments this summer.

Andre Onana starts between the sticks. He mares his first appearance of the pre-season along with Jadon Sancho and Amad Diallo. This will be Sancho’s first outing in a United shirt since August 26 last year.

Casemiro has been given the captain’s armband, with Bruno Fernandes on a break after competing at Euro 2024 this summer.

A number of players miss the game due to small niggles. They include Antony, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford. Others have not travelled as they continue to work their way back to full fitness.

Manchester United XI vs Rangers: Onana; Wan-Bissaka; Yoro, Evans, Murray; Casemiro, Collyer; Amad, Mount, Sancho; Wheatley.

Substitutes: Mee; Vitek, Aljofree, Amass, Bennett, Fish, Jackson, Ogunneye, Oyedele, J.Fletcher, Hannibal, Mather, Scanlon, Ennis, Hugill.
