Manchester United willing to listen to loan offers for £80m flop after underwhelming season

Manchester United have a decision to make with Antony.

The Brazilian winger has struggled to live up to the expectations that came with his excessive price tag (£80.9m) since joining Manchester United from Ajax in 2022.

Stretty News published an opinion piece three weeks ago stressing that Antony was facing a make-or-break season at United, should he remain at the club and fight for his place in the team.

According to ESPN, United flop Antony will be allowed to leave on loan if a club is prepared to cover his salary.

While the report claims Antony earns £70,000-a-week at United, we believe that is not the case as he earns a more handsome salary. That is the only grey area we’ve spotted in Mark Ogden’s report.

However, Antony is completely out of the picture to start games at United and there are plans already in place for the squad to get considerably stronger next season. He is coming off a very underwhelming campaign, with off-field issues and huge question marks over his attitude and application.

This led many to believe Antony should be moved on this summer.

The problem United face is trying to cash in on Antony. Is there any club willing to take a hit on such a gamble, who hasn’t performed consistently during his time at the club? They are already struggling to shift Jadon Sancho who had a better season than Antony after reaching the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund.

Perhaps we can tempt a club like Bologna to take Antony on loan. At least that would be a good move for him and we’ve already done business with the club this summer after signing Joshua Zirkzee.

  1. I believe that Antony should be sold,he is just NOT United material nor has his performances proved otherwise! Harry Maguire? Tough call! Scotty I’d keep….Sancho needs to listen to Ruud and work really hard but in my mind he remains a risk! The young lads coming into the first team squad are excellent prospects!
