According to reports in Brazil, Chelsea are in discussions to sign former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira from Fulham.
Chelsea are willing to spend up to £35 million, and new boss Enzo Maresca has authorised the potential signing.
As reported by Globo, Chelsea have been in touch with Andreas Pereira’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, and shown interest in signing the midfield player.
The Blues want to satisfy the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, hence they want to sell Conor Gallagher during the summer transfer window.
Since the England international was a product of their academy, selling him would be added as pure profit in their books.
Pereira failed to make impact at Man United and he was allowed to leave the club.
Since joining Fulham, the Brazilian midfielder has regained his form and shown his talent for the club and his country.
He was called up to Brazil’s Copa America squad this summer and he represented the national team.
Chelsea have been busy in the summer transfer window after completing the signings of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, Marc Guiu and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Pereira failed to impress during his spell at Man United
Now they want the Man United flop to join their squad and add depth to their pool of players.
The new Chelsea manager Maresca has given his approval to the club to sign the midfielder from their London rivals.
In addition to his 75 United appearances, the midfielder spent time on loan at Granada, Valencia, Lazio, and Flamengo.
