Man United will have to pay €70m to bring defensive midfielder to Old Trafford

After signing a defender and a striker, Manchester United are targeting a move for a new midfielder.

The club could part ways with Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay this summer which would leave a huge gap in the middle of the park.

A number of targets have been identified already by the club to take charge of the midfield next season.

The name of free agent Adrien Rabiot has been mentioned after he left Juventus this summer.

However, the club have concrete interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, the French champions are demanding €70m for the former Sporting midfielder.

The 23-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Man United, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

The player wants to move to Old Trafford even with no Champions League football next season.

The Red Devils are looking increasing likely to work out a deal for the Uruguay international midfielder as he has the same agent as United’s new signing Leny Yoro; Jorge Mendes.

Manuel Ugarte to Man United?

The French giants PSG signed Ugarte last summer from Sporting for a fee of €60m and they are now demanding a €10m profit on their investment.

Man United have been clever with their transfer business so far this summer with the club completing moves for Joshua Zirkzee and and Leny Yoro.

After deciding to keep manager Erik ten Hag at the club, the Red Devils have been actively looking to strengthen their squad this summer.

It is an exciting period at the club with new players arriving at Old Trafford and making the team stronger to challenge for trophies next season.
