‘After Yoro’ United will be ‘super active’ in pursuing one ‘crucial position’, confirms Romano

Fabrizio Romano has detailed Manchester United’s next order of business should Leny Yoro’s move get over the line swiftly.

The Reds acted in such a way in their pursuit of Yoro that fans were completely taken aback at how efficient INEOS are in getting deals done.

For example, Liverpool are poised to miss out on the Frenchman despite targeting him as their priority centre-back signing, as they were set on the idea that he only wanted a move to Real Madrid.

United also knew that Yoro’s priority was the 15-time European champions, yet opted to test Lille’s resolve with a £52 million bid, which was considerably closer to their valuation than what Madrid were offering.

It then took a few days of deliberation from the player while he mulled over the proposed transfer before he warmed to the idea and gave the green light for Lille to advance with the next steps.

Assuming there are no late hijack attempts from Madrid and Yoro passes his medical tests, he will become the club’s second signing of the summer following Joshua Zirkzee’s switch from Bologna last week.

What next for United?

Fabrizio Romano has now provided the Old Trafford faithful with an update regarding what they can expect after Erik ten Hag’s defence has been bolstered.

“Manchester United keep working on several options also in the midfield, in case Casemiro deal accelerates with Al-Ittihad,” Romano explained on his YouTube channel.

“After Zirkzee, after Yoro, the midfield is going to be a crucial position. This is the plan, this is the idea, Manchester United are super active in the market.”
