Real Madrid prepare new bid for Leny Yoro despite Manchester United’s accept offer

Manchester United are trying to advance with their attempts to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro, but the race for his signature is set to intensify if reports are to be believed that Real Madrid are preparing an improved offer for the French teenager.

According to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Real Madrid are set to make a new offer to Lille defender Leny Yoro. The La Liga club previously offered a total of €30m with bonuses included that was rejected by the Ligue 1 club.

Last week it was suggested that Lille were more inclined to listen to United’s offer (worth €62m, as per L’Equipe) because it met the 18-year-old’s release clause, whereas Madrid have been trying to do the deal as cheapy as possible.

The problem for United is it has been long understood that Yoro’s preference is Madrid. In that case, we shouldn’t be signing players – regardless of talent – if they don’t want to be at United. I’m not saying that is the case since I’m sure United have done their homework on the matter.

Yoro has one year left to run on his current deal at the Stade Pierre Mauroy meaning Madrid could try wait 12 months to sign him as a free agent.

Madrid are under extra pressure since Lille accepted United’s offer. Moreover, Yoro’s representatives have discussed a potential wage package.

Hopefully, a final decision will be made soon and we can all move on one way or another.

It doesn’t look like Madrid are giving up easily which tells you how highly they rate the young French centre-back.
