Manchester United are going through a crucial period as far as the future of the club is concerned.

Now, Mason Greenwood is close to leaving the club after journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Man United have reached an agreement with French giants Marseille over his transfer.

The reliable journalist wrote on X:

“Mason Greenwood to Olympique Marseille, here we go! Deal in place between all parties.

“OM have booked private flight for Mason to land in Marseille, undergo medical tests and sign.

“Deal valid until June 2029.

“Man United to receive €30m package plus 50% sell-on clause.”

Man United attacker Mason Greenwood is set to join French giants Marseille.

Greenwood’s contract is set to expire next year, therefore securing a permanent departure was always supposed to be United’s goal this summer.

The attacker has endured a difficult time at the club due to his controversial activities off the pitch.

After impressing on his loan spell at Getafe, Greenwood attracted the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

However, French giants Marseille have won the race to sign him but Man United would be more than happy with the deal to permanently offload Greenwood.
