The Red Devils could lose Casemiro, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen this summer which will make signing a new central midfielder an urgent need of the squad.

Man United have already completed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee to add another attacker to the squad in order to share the workload of Rasmus Hojlund.

Now they are looking to add a midfielder who could partner Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park.

Despite only joining Crystal Palace in January, Adam Wharton is reportedly being considered by United, according to Caught Offside.

The former Blackburn player didn’t play a minute in Germany this summer, but he still managed to earn a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England team for Euro 2024.

In January this year, the midfielder joined the Eagles for a fee of £22 million, and when he eventually decides to move on, he will undoubtedly command a high price.

Since graduating from the United academy, Mainoo has been a staple in the midfield, although he hasn’t established a consistent partner alongside him.

Man United are actively looking for a midfield signing

The Red Devils are now searching the market for a midfielder who can partner the talented young England international.

The arrival of Wharton at Old Trafford would make it an all-England midfield for the Red Devils with presence of Mainoo and the Palace midfielder.

Wharton is a midfield controller who acts as a bridge between the defense and the attack and his ability to pass the ball smoothly all over the pitch is a key asset of his over all game.

He brings calmness to the team with his passing, something that is desperately needed at United.
