Manchester United’s interest in Lille defender Leny Yoro hasn’t been a secret.
Last week, Lille accepted a £42m offer for the 18-year-old centre-back, who has been the subject of firm interest from Real Madrid.
It has been long understood that Yoro’s preference was to join Los Blancos, who reportedly view the player as a generational talent. That would make this some coup for United should a deal materialise.
The latest update from David Ornstein this morning suggests that United see Yoro as a priority over the likes of Matthijs de Ligt.
Now, a French journalist named Nabil Djellit claims Yoro is in negotiations with United over his salary.

This is a positive sign that the player is at least willing to listen to United’s conditions, as he should be.
Real Madrid have yet to match United’s offer for Yoro, hence why Lille are currently more inclined to listen to the Reds when it comes to their most prized asset.
The Spanish giants remain in the background, while United appear to be advancing on a deal to sign one of the hottest prospects in France right now.
More defenders to leave?
With Willy Kambwala joining Villarreal, like Diego Forlan and Giuseppe Rossi before him, the question needs to be ask about who next?
United will listen to offers for Victor Lindelof and possibility Harry Maguire now we know Jonny Evans is staying.
I can see at least one more leaving if United sign two new centre-backs this summer.
