‘Mounting interest’ in £60k-a-week United ace whom the club have rejected ‘early bids’ for

Manchester United have reportedly rebuffed ‘early bids’ for Scott McTominay, who’s said to be attracting ‘mounting interest’ this summer window.

That’s according to Manchester Evening News, which has confirmed the midfielder ranks considerably higher in Erik ten Hag’s estimations this year than he did in 2023 when United were open to selling him if suitable offers came in.

Only West Ham United materialised their pursuit of McTominay by submitting a £30 million bid last year, although this was swiftly rejected as he was valued closer to £40m at the time.

Now on the back of a career-best campaign, during which he found the back of the net 10 times in all competitions, you can imagine United’s asking price has increased.

Galatasaray keen on McTominay acquisition but braced for failure

It remains to be which sides have approached INEOS chiefs over the Scot’s availability. One Galatasaray board of director member, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, admitted they’d held discussions over a potential fee for McTominay. However, MEN adds that any Turkish outfit is unlikely to have the funds available to meet United’s demands.

The 27-year-old, who earns £60,000 a week according to Capology, made 43 appearances across 2023/2024, with 27 outings coming from the offset.
