Manchester United have reportedly ‘held talks’ over a potential deal for Dani Olmo, as per FootballTransfers.

The Red Devils are believed to have established their interest along with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, with both currently mulling over a move for the standout Euro 2024 performer.

Despite arriving in Germany as a backup to Pedri, Olmo was called upon initially as an off-the-bench option before his compatriot sustained a tournament-ending injury. As such, he has started the past two matches.

He netted the winning goal against France on Tuesday to book Spain’s place in this Sunday’s final, taking his tally up to three goals and two assists in five appearances and putting himself in pole position to claim this year’s Golden Boot award.

How much Olmo is expected to cost this summer

Olmo, 26, has a €60 million (£50m) release clause embedded into his RB Leipzig contract, although this is only valid until July 20, giving any interested clubs just over a week to trigger the option or risk Leipzig increasing his asking price – which they’ll likely do, given his stellar performances on the international stage.

United, meanwhile, are actively pursuing Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee, 23, who is available for £34m. It remains to be seen if they will push for both players.
