Manchester United have been linked with several defenders in recent weeks and Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi is a target for them.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has now revealed on Give Me Sport that Manchester United like the 23-year-old England international, and they could consider a move for him this summer.

He said: “One of the ones that looks high on the list is a young player from Lille, Leny Yoro, but Real Madrid are interested in him as well, and Liverpool have been linked as well. Marc Guehi is another one. Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich is another one.”

They are looking at several other options as well and it remains to be seen who they end up signing eventually. It is hardly a surprise that Manchester United are keeping tabs on multiple defenders this summer. They conceded 58 goals in the league last season and it is an area that needs improvement.

Manchester United must tighten up at the back if they are serious about competing for major trophies next season. Guehi has proven himself in the Premier League and he should prove to be a quality acquisition. He has been a reliable performer for Crystal Palace and he has the quality to play for the best teams in the country.

Marc Guehi could fancy Man United switch

The 23-year-old will be attracted to the idea of joining one of the biggest clubs in the world if the opportunity presents itself. It would be a huge step up in his career and he could compete for trophies with the Red Devils. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can finalise an agreement.

He is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition and Manchester United will have to break the bank for the former Chelsea Academy graduate  Guehi is a part of the England squad for the UEFA Euro 2024, and he will be hoping to make his mark in Germany this summer before deciding on his club future. Crystal Palace will certainly hope that he can impress in the Euros so that they can demand a premium for him.
