United ace’s brother comically responds to transfer rumours by saying what all fans are thinking

Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly set to be the subject of an approach from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal.

Should an offer arrive in the inbox of Manchester United chiefs, it’s safe to say that it’ll quickly be laughed off. There’s no chance that the club will be sanctioning his exit anytime soon, and there’s no reason why a player of his calibre and potential should draw the curtains on a European career before he’s even reached his prime.

United paid just £420,000 to acquire Garnacho’s services from Atletico Madrid’s youth system in 2020. His scintillating breakthrough in 2022/2023, as well as his remarkable impact throughout his sophomore senior campaign, has increased his value in the region of €45 million (£38m), according to Transfermarkt.

The 19-year-old headed into the summer an FA Cup champion, having played a direct role in United lifting the trophy by scoring the opening goal against arch-rivals Manchester City at Wembley. He’s now on international duty with Argentina at Copa America, where he could claim another winners’ medal just seven weeks after his last one.

Saudi rumours even have Garnacho’s brother bemused

Garnacho’s younger brother, Robert, took to social media last night to react to the far-fetched reports, dismissing any prospect of them being true with his reply: “Tf [the f**k] is this?”

For now and for the foreseeable future, the Carrington graduate is a Red, so the Old Trafford faithful can continue thanking their lucky stars that that’s the case.

  1. Why do Utd put such low valuation on our talented young players. Do what they do in Europe and put a big price tag on his head. A release clause of £100m.
