Transfer news: Branthwaite terms agreed, Chelsea push for Olise – LIVE

Casemiro not impressed by United's recruitment last summer

According to The Athletic, Casemiro was ‘disappointed’ by Manchester United’s recruitment last summer.

The Brazilian veteran was frustrated that Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich instead of United.

It makes sense that Casemiro, a player past his best, wanted to see United make a short-term buy rather than invest in a young striker like Rasmus Hojlund.

Casemiro is likely to leave United this summer. He can worry about the recruitment elsewhere then.

Barcelona register interest in Kobbie Mainoo

If you thought Fenerbahce’s £6m bid for Victor Lindelof was funny, wait until you get a hold of this…

Sacha Tavolieri claims Barcelona have registered an interest in Kobbie Mainoo and are keen on securing his services ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Can pigs fly?

United expect Mainoo to sign a new contract at the club. He’s fully committed to his boyhood club and Barcelona haven’t got the money to afford him.

Manchester United consider Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt

According to German reporter Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United have started internal discussions about a potential move of Matthijs de Ligt.

The reporter adds there have not yet been any concrete moves from United. The club is in the process of gathering more information about the possibility of De Ligt leaving Bayern Munich this summer.

It is understood Bayern have their eyes on one or two new defenders this summer, which could see De Ligt slip down the pecking order, with Vincent Kompany recently appointed as their new manager.

The Netherlands international’s current price is €50million.

Teddy Sheringham urges Manchester United to sign a new striker

Teddy Sheringham wants Manchester United to sign a new striker this summer.

The Treble-winner wants to see more competition for places up front next season since Anthony Martial offered little to none of that this season.

Speaking to Poker Sites, he said: “I think Rasmus Hojlund has done alright. It’s tough playing centre-forward these days because wingers don’t really get down to the by-line and feed players in the box, and he’s not getting an awful lot of supply in midfield.

“I think he’s feeding off scraps at Manchester United at the moment, but he’s fought well and looks quite strong. It’s a difficult position to play at the club as such a young lad and I think he’s done okay.

“Having said that, the club need another striker without a doubt. They’re going to be playing a lot of games next season and encountering a lot of injuries, so they’ll definitely need another striker from somewhere.”

Manchester United interested in RB Salzburg teen Adejenugure

Manchester United are interested in signing RB Salzburg teenager Oghenetejiri Adejenugure, according to the Daily Express.

Talks have reportedly been held with the 17-year-old’s camp to discuss the possibility of a future switch.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are among Adejenugure’s potential suitors.

Adejenughure scored 16 goals in 20 games at U18s level last season.

Everton reject £35m offer for Jarrad Branthwaite

Everton have rejected Manchester United’s opening offer of £35million for Jarrad Branthwaite, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station claims Everton insists they will not be forced into a quick sale before June 30 when the current PSR period ends.

talkSPORT have yet to issue a report on their website – but have shared the latest update on X, formerly known as Twitter:

Manchester United make £45m offer for Branthwaite; likely to be rejected

Manchester United are understood to have made an opening offer of around £45million for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton are likely to reject the move because they’re understood to be demanding a fee worth £70m for Branthwaite’s signature.

The young defender was a surprise omission from the final Euro 2024 squad despite Harry Maguire being left out. He has already agreed on personal terms with United.

Manchester United put off by Everton's £70m price tag for Branthwaite

According to ESPN, Manchester United are preparing to pursue other targets if Everton are unwilling to negotiate a fee for Jarrad Branthwaite.

I could be mistaken into thinking these are threatening tactics but it’s the right stance to show. Everton have financial difficulties of their own and Branthwaite is their biggest asset.

It is thought that Everton’s £70m valuation of the defender is proving ‘problematic’.

Matheus Cunha addresses Manchester United links

Wolves star has been recorded on video responding to speculation linking him with Manchester United.

Talk about trying to put your name in the transfer window!

The 25-year-old, who appears desperate to be linked with United, says: “You know it’s a real honour to have your name linked to Manchester United. One of the biggest clubs in the world.

“But I’m happy at Wolves. If I’m lucky, I play another good season, but the window is open, you never know.”

Manchester United transfer kitty worth £50m

Erik ten Hag will only have £50m to spend this summer until sales are made, according to The Mirror.

Pressure is on United to sell players, and we always knew that would be the case this summer.

The report claims Sir Jim Ratcliffe has put forward a £50m budget to start with as United hunt for two centre-backs, a midfielder and an attacker.

Stuttgart star Serhou Guirassy provides update on his future

Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see those rumours resurface.

He scored 30 goals in as many club games last season and could be one option for United to consider this summer, with reports suggests a bid worth £17m would trigger his release clause.

Speaking about his future, Guirassy said: “I’m still under contract with VfB [Stuttgart]. Now it’s time for a vacation. We’ll know in a few weeks what will happen.”

Guirassy is likely planning for a big move this summer. His agents will be busy trying to plot one why he enjoys his summer off.

Jarrad Branthwaite to complete transfer by the end of the month

According to Football Transfers reporter Jacque Talbott, Jarrad Branthwaite is edging near to a move to Manchester United and there is anticipation that a deal will be finalised by the end of the month.

The Everton defender has already agreed personal terms with United, so it is of course safe to say he’s edging towards a move to United.

I would be pleased if we can get it wrapped up before the end of the month. Branthwaite won’t be involved in Euro 2024, so there’s no reason to think it’s not a realistic deadline.

United need to negotiate a price with Everton, who are demanding £70m for Branthwaite.

Lille won't stand in Yoro's way

Lille chief Oliver Letang says Manchester United-linked Leny Yoro is free to leave this summer if the right offer arrives.

The French defender – who has 12 months left on his deal – has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Liverpool and United.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Letang said: “Leny Yoro and Jonathan David can leave the club this summer. But have the ‘exit voucher’ due to their contract situation.”

Letang mentioned Canadian striker Jonathan David as being in the same situation as Yoro. He’s been linked with a move to United for years.

Fenerbahce to offer £6m for Victor Lindelof

Fenerbahce are reportedly set to table a laughable bid for Victor Lindelof.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahce will offer £6m for the Swede, which is nowhere near the amount United will demand for his signature.

Lindelof is one of the players available for transfer this summer, but only if the price is right. He has a year left to run on his contract.

The links are interesting because Fenerbahce recently appointed former United manager Jose Mourinho as manager. It was well-documented that he didn’t fancy Lindelof after bringing him to Old Trafford from Benfica.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka could leave Manchester United this summer

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future, stating that the right-back could leave Manchester United this summer.

Wan-Bissaka is attracting interest from Italian and Turkish clubs, although Stretty News understands his preference is to return to London.

Everton want £70m for Branthwaite

Everton want £70m for Jarrad Branthwaite, who has agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

Sky Sports claims United are keen on getting a deal for Branthwaite done quickly, although they face one issue being Everton’s asking price.

I like how Everton are trying to play hardball when they should want to avoid further penalties after breaching loss limits over the past two cycles. They should be mindful that the current three-year accounting period is June 30, so now would be a good time to accept an offer for their most prized asset.

Come on, Everton. Hand him over…

Reports from Italy on Mason Greenwood bid are premature

Juventus are in no rush to sign Mason Greenwood and they haven’t made a £40m offer to sign the Manchester United forward.

That is according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, writing in his Daily Briefing column this morning.

Romano claims Juventus want around €40m to let Matias Soule leave the club, as they have to sell at least one offensive player before they can think about signing Greenwood.

Rumours flushed through the media last night that Juve had tabled a £40m bid for Greenwood, however, that is not the case.

Italian duo rival Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee

Manchester United have been credited with interest in Joshua Zirkzee as a primary target for the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph claims both Juventus and AC Milan are in the race for the Dutchman, who has just been called up to the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.

Juventus and Milan can offer Champions League football to Zirkzee and he has a release clause rumoured to be worth £33.8m.

Zirkzee missed out on a place in Ronald Koeman’s side but injuries to key players made room for the 23-year-old. United will be keeping a close eye on him in Germany.

Todibo remains on Manchester United radar

Manchester United have been heavily linked with OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo for months and the Daily Mail believes that interest remains.

There is the obvious Sir Jim Ratcliffe connection between the two clubs, so a deal shouldn’t be difficult to strike if United make Todibo a priority target.

United have already agreed personal terms with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite over a deal, but many reports state that the club wants to sign two centre-backs this summer.

Leny Yoro is another target for United.

Manchester United and Liverpool want Leny Yoro

Leny Yoro is in high demand.

Manchester United are set to go head-to-head with Liverpool for the highly-rated Lille defender, as per The Athletic.

It has been claimed that both Premier League rivals are actively pursuing a deal to sign Yoro, who has a preference to play for Real Madrid.

However, Madrid would rather wait a year to sign Yoro as a free agent but there is still an acceptance that the Spanish side could swoop in at any moment and sign him this summer.

That is why United need to move fast if they want to try hijack Madrid’s plans for the young centre-back.

Chelsea approach Crystal Palace over Michael Olise

Michael Olise has been on Chelsea’s radar for over a year. The Blues failed to sign last year but are ready to return with a new and improved offer.

The Athletic claims Chelsea are prepared to meet Olise’s £60million release clause.

The Crystal Palace winger is a boyhood United fan which could sway his decision in the end, but it’s Chelsea pushing for his signature along with Newcastle.

Only time will tell if United are going to make a move for the Palace star.

Manchester United agree personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite

According to The Times, Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite.

The news emerged last night that the England defender, who missed out on a place in the Euro 2024 squad, is likely to pocket between £150,000 and £ 160,000 per week if he completes his move to Old Trafford.

United are yet to agree a fee with the Toffees, who are said to be holding out for £70m.

Perhaps we should take advantage of the fact we’re the only club going for Branthwaite and that Everton are weak financially.
