Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek could be heading back out on loan next season.
After signing a new deal at Manchester United in January, Vitek joined League Two side Accrington Stanley on loan for the remainder of the season.
Vitek made 18 league appearances for the North West outfit and kept four clean sheets.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, via Patreon, Shrewsbury Town are ‘interested’ in signing Vitek on loan.
The Shrews are in the hunt for a new keeper and could turn to Vitek are their solution ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. They are in the process of preparing for another season under the guidance of Paul Hurst.
The 20-year-old is under contract at Old Trafford until 2027, but United have yet to decide on his imminent future.
Vitek is currently down the pecking order of the first-team at United, so it would benefit him to be playing regular football in the Football League.
The young stopper started his career with spells at TJ Sokol Hostalkova and SK Sigma Olomouc before moving to United’s academy three years ago.
Shrewsbury Town finished 19th last term, finishing four points clear of relegation. Perhaps too close for comfort.
