Arsenal appear to be leading the race to sign £45m-rated RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko after being reported as a Manchester United target in the past.

It is understood that the Slovenia international is being courted by a host of clubs including Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic has been spotted at Arsenal and United matches this season, so we are certain that discussion took place at some point.

Only time will tell if the interest is genuine enough to warrant a formal offer.

However, a fresh claim from The Mirror suggests Sesko has a preference over a move to Arsenal this summer.

This may come as bad news for United and Chelsea, but there has been nothing to suggest that either club were ready to prioritise the striker this summer.

United and Chelsea may have other options in mind.

RB Leipzig are prepared to cash in this summer if they can broker the right deal even though he has only been at the club for a year, having joined from Red Bull Salzburg in 2019.

Sesko will at Euro 2024 representing Slovenia when we all get a closer look at him in action.
