Manchester United icon emerges as contender for Premier League job

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been out of work since leaving Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven in 2023. The Dutchman could be about to land his first job in the Premier League ahead of the new season.

Van Nistelrooy will hope to take advantage of the situation as a coach seeking a new job.

According to reports in Belgium, as cited by The Mirror, Van Nistelrooy is an ‘option’ to replace Maresca.

Van Nistelrooy left PSV at the end of his solitary season with the club after winning the Dutch Cup. He also worked as an assistant to Guus Hiddink with the Dutch national side.

Another former United striker from the Netherlands landed his first job this summer. That was Robin van Persie, taking over at Heerenveen.
