INEOS aware of Manchester United fans’ strong support for Erik ten Hag

Manchester United fans will hope that the end-of-season review being conducted by club officials will be completed soon because the speculation surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future is getting out of hand.

According to the Daily Mail, there is no guarantee that the review will be concluded this week.

That means doubts over Ten Hag could remain into next week.

Ten Hag gave himself a greater chance of remaining manager after his side won the FA Cup following a 2-1 win over rivals Man City.

It is understood that Ineos are aware of a groundswell of support among fans for Ten Hag to stay in change for the third year of his contract.

Stretty News is running a poll on the matter and it’s clear that our readers want the Dutchman to stay in charge ahead of next season.

The managerial candidates out there aren’t exciting. If Ten Hag isn’t the right man, is Thomas Tuchel? Mauricio Pochettino? Roberto De Zerbi? Thomas Frank?

Sacking Ten Hag would come with an expense United cannot afford if they want to make new signings this summer.

  1. Didn’t fergie get a chance after the fa cup, and look what he achieved. We are going through managers to fast. With a fit team this season we would now be in the champions league at least.

  2. Sacking Ten Hag to me is actually a no brainer There’s this togetherness, and belief amongst the team, it’s just injury and nothing more,, he (Ten Hag) have been saying this repeatedly,, besides Winning two trophies back to back is enough to justified his stay, considering the loads of setback we had this Season,, please 🙏 do the right thing.. ineos

    1. Peter, speak to match-going fans and you will hear a completely different take. You’re welcome to your opinion but for the record, it’s out of touch with the match-going fan base.

      1. Here we go, ‘match going fans’ bullsh@t. I’m 60 yrs old and have been going to matches, home and away for 50 years. Just because you go to matches you think you’re better than fans that can’t or your voice matters more. You’re so wrong and your opinion stinks. You were an itch in your fathers undercrackers when I started watching United home and away. We have loyal fans all over the world and no matter how big Old Trafford is, it will never be big enough to allow every loyal United fan to watch games in the stadium. Your opinion is no more valid than fans that get up in the middle of the night to watch games on TV. Where do you think TV income comes from ?
Wake up and smell the coffee. If as I suspect that I’ve seen United play far more than you could ever hope to, by your reasoning, my opinion is worth far more than yours . Think before engaging your mouth 😂

          1. Just letting you know, you’re the one out of touch 😂
The huge majority of United fans never get to Old Trafford.
That leaves you and your arrogant opinion in a very small minority.
Would you travel to India or Singapore then on to Australia, then South Africa to watch United in a super league ? Now think of all those hundreds of thousands of United fans living in those countries who will never get to Old Trafford to see the team they love just as much as you or I. We’re very lucky but we’re no better than any other fan across the world. 👍

          2. I’ve never said we were any better than other fans, but the views you get here on Stretty News will echo what match-going fans are saying. That’s our demographic and fans from afar appreciate it just like we can appreciate people getting up in the early hours of the morning to watch the team. However, there’s also a point to make about match-going fans spending their hard-earned money following United home and away. The costs of our season tickets went up this season, and getting to and from games across Europe isn’t cheap.

  3. Ten Hag deserves another chance. He is introducing hungry young blood in our team, and they are showing signs of taking Red Devels to higher levels.
Look, changing manager is just buying confusion at its best. That’s very expesive for the fans and the team. It is very unhealthy to change manager time and again. Do we want to remain at starting point forever? Come on, let’s be brave and progress with what we already have in hand, and forget about the chorus of sacking. It has no value

  4. Look, I think ETH is a thoroughly decent man, and no way did he deserve that Grauniad ‘exclusive’ and all the resulting noise prior to the Cup final. Is he the best man to start the climb to where we want to be? Je ne sais pas, and nor does anybody else for sure. We’ve some excellent talent coming through – is that down to ETH, or the coaches of the younger lads? Some things he undoubtedly gets right: I back him 100% on his stances on Sancho and Rashford when he crossed a line. I can see the argument for a third season, but worry about the alternatives available October / November if it didn’t work out.
I want, of course, the best for the Team I’ve supported since the mid-sixties; so much so that if His Satanic Majesty said the good news is I can arrange that your next Manager will lead you to the title, the bad news is it’s John Terry / Steve Gerrard, I’d swallow hard, and say fine, thanks very much.
Only a proper Red would truly understand that…
