Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat is none the wiser about his future following the 2023/24 season finale.
The Morocco international joined United on loan from Serie A outfit Fiorentina at the beginning of the season, with an option to make the move permanent if he impressed during his time at Old Trafford.
Italian football expert Matteo Moretto recently told CaughtOffside that Amrabat would not be staying at United, despite a strong end to a season that saw him become an FA Cup winner.
Amrabat endured a difficult year at United – from being played out of his preferred position to injuries, he never appeared to settle. That was until the end of the season.
As key players returned from injury, Amrabat was trusted with anchoring the midfield against Man City in the FA Cup final on Saturday. The Morocco international did a tremendous job keeping control in the middle as we haven’t been able to do that against any team this season.
What next for Amrabat?
As quoted by Ziggo Sport, Amrabat says there will be talks to decide on his future.
Amrabat could return to Fiorentina, although he is not expected to be playing his football there next season after being linked with moves to bigger Italian clubs.
“Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk.
“Staying is certainly an option. Look, I think it has been a very difficult season. For Manchester United it needs to be much better, and also for me personally.”
