Manchester United are FA Cup champions following a 2-1 win over Man City at Wembley.
The Reds were the better team throughout the game, though Pep Guardiola’s side had a huge majority of possession.
City’s late goal made for a nervy end to the season finale.
United stopped City from winning the Double in successive seasons.
The fact we are deserved winners makes it all the more sweeter that it was against our bitter rivals too.
Here are our player ratings:
Andre Onana
After a quiet first-half, Andre Onana was made work in the second half as City cranked up the pressure. He should have done better for Jeremy Doku’s goal but I don’t want to be too harsh after his stunning save to deny Kyle Walker from distance. 6
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Did superbly in a non-stop battle with Doku. 8
Raphael Varane
Rock at the back for his last dance. Clearance after clearance. 8
Lisandro Martinez
Unsettled Erling Haaland and told Walker he’d meet him outside. Orchestrated the backline and showed why we’ve missed him all season. 8
Diogo Dalot
One of United’s most important players. Often in the right place at the right time, even though he was played out of position on the left. 8
Sofyan Amrabat
Controlled in the midfield and shielded the back four. 9
Kobbie Mainoo
Thriving on confidence. Scored the important second goal and it was a stunner. 9
Marcus Rashford
Had to work against Walker but tracked back when the going got tough. 7
Scott McTominay
Key to making United work in transition. 8
Alejandro Garnacho
United’s livewire. Made City panic. 8
Bruno Fernandes – Man of the match
Outstanding performance from the captain. Made an assist for Mainoo’s goal. 9
Subs
Rasmus Hojlund
Came on ready to battle and that was exactly what we needed. 7
Jonny Evans
Assured. 7
Victor Lindelof
Came on in stoppage time.
Mason Mount
