Manchester United fans celebrate George Best’s 78th birthday in Belfast

A group of Manchester United fans celebrated George Best’s 78th birthday in Belfast earlier this week.

On Wednesday we remembered the late, great George Best on what would have been his 78th birthday since the Belfast Boy was born on May 22, 1946.

Best sadly passed away in November 2005 following health complications after a liver transplant and on ongoing battle with alcohol addiction.

The Manchester United legend’s death was mourned by thousands of football footballs across the world in the wake of his death.

Many gathered in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to celebrate his 78th birthday, including Keith Norris who is to thank for the images used in this article.

Best, one of the greatest players in United’s illustrious history, scored 179 goals for the club. His name is still sung on terraces today.

Forever remembered as a United icon. George Best.
