Crystal Palace boss critical of first-half display in 4-0 win over Manchester United

Crystal Palace look tactically adapted to their new manager Oliver Glasner following his side’s dismantling of Manchester United in the Premier League on Monday night.

Manchester United’s season reached new embarrassing lows as the defeat made our situation even worse, with the Reds now running the risk of missing out on European football completely next season and the odds of qualification are fluctuating wildly – you can find out more at the best online gambling sites.

Jamie Carragher believes that United could take positives from failing to qualify for Europe next season. He told Sky Sports about how United could move forward and whether missing out on European football next season may stand to benefit the club in the long run.

The former Liverpool defender only wants to drown in our failure at this point since he’s heartbroken that Jurgen Klopp won’t be leaving with anything more than the Carabao Cup.

Eagles stun United

It was another appalling display from Erik ten Hag’s side who had no semblance of structure either at the back or in transition. This is why it was another night of misery for the travelling fans who were in fine voice.

Crystal Palace were two up and cruising at the break thanks to goals from Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta and they continued to benefit from United’s shoddy defending in the second half.

Unfortunately for us, Tyrick Mitchell made it three before Olise scored a screamer from distance – thanks to some sloppy goalkeeping from Andre Onana. Casemiro’s terrible performance also warrants mentioning since he was at fault for multiple of Palace’s goals.

But no United team should be getting beat 4-0 by Crystal Palace. No United team should be getting beat by Palace twice in the one season. These things are all wrong and they need to be addressed.

Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, Palace boss Glasner has stuck the knife in further. Speaking to Sky Sports after their memorable win, he was surprisingly critical of his side and said they weren’t good in the first half – despite being better than a depleted United side.

He said: “The first half we didn’t play well. How we could.

“So it was not that consistent in defence, we open the middle too often and they could find the pockets and a little bit of problems.

“But we were very efficient so we scored very nice goals. At half time we made two or three adaptions and the players listened again.

“The second half was much better, we had much more control of the game.

“We created a lot of chances, we scored nice goals we were a little bit more consistent on our basics and so it’s a great win and congrats to the team.”

Glasner clearly doesn’t want his players entering holiday mode.

The Eagles have certainly improved under their new manager after a tough campaign under Roy Hodgson.
