21:56 FT: Palace 4-0 United. First time Palace have done a Premier League double over us. Good night.

21:54 This performance will scar Casemiro and he’s had some bad ones this season.

21:52 Palace hit the post from distance. It looked like Onana’s boot got stuck in the turf. Casemiro caught napping again. He’s had a howler tonight.

21:51 Six minutes added on.

21:50 We have entered stoppage time. United are still all over the place.

21:48 It’s going to be difficult for Ten Hag to ignore this result. We’ll have all his comments from the post-match press conference on the blog throughout the night. The live blog will finish after the full-time whistle, so thanks to everyone who joined us. It’s a shame we didn’t get the result we needed to move to sixth in the Premier League table. United stay in eighth.

21:44 Olise is coming off after scoring two goals. Great audition for a player reportedly attracting interest from INEOS ahead of the summer transfer window.

21:43 Palace have stepped off it. Happy at 4-0? I’m sure we could give them a fifth to make the night more memorable…

21:40 Palace fans singing ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ – directed at Ten Hag…

21:40 Amad and Wheatley on, Mount and Hojlund off.

21:39 Another performance to forget for Mount then.

21:35 Casemiro looks like a player who just wants the season to end. He has looked that way for months.

21:33 United don’t look like they will land a single punch on Palace tonight. It’s been another deflating night but at least our away faithful has been as loud as ever.

21:29 Palace manager booked. Not happy with Amrabat as he thinks the tackle was worthy of a red card.

21:28 Amrabat booked for an unnecessary tackle.

21:26 Palace winning 4-0 after a screamer from Olise. Casemiro had a nightmare losing possession of the ball in defence.

21:24 Hojlund called for a penalty after a collision. The striker was convinced he got tripped off, but it was outside the box.

21:22 Casemiro forces Henderson into a save.

21:22 United corner with under a half hour to go.

21:20 If Palace want to keep pushing they could make this a devastating blow for Ten Hag. The manager has just brought Amrabat on for Antony.

21:17 Palace are tearing United apart. 3-0.

21:17 Carragher with some dramatic commentary on Sky Sports saying he is finding it difficult to watch Casemiro struggle on the pitch. He has called for Ten Hag to take off the Brazilian veteran. Does anyone care for a violin?

21:15 Antony has three or four players ahead of him and he plays the wrong pass as United attempted to hit Palace on the break. The winger ruins our momentum in attack. He’s been quiet again tonight.

21:12 Eriksen’s free kick finds Casemiro who hits the post. His rebounded effort saw the ball cross the line but the linesman had the flag up for offside. The Brazilian was a mile off.

21:11 United’s goal difference is currently -1. We have three and a half Premier League games left to play this season.

21:10 First shot on target of the night for United. It goes to Antony from outside the box.

21:09 Eze has a shot on goal. Luckily it’s directly at Onana because our defence knew nothing about it.

21:07 Henderson wasting time already, with Palace 2-0 up.

21:06 Wan-Bissaka fouled following a hospital pass from Mainoo.

21:04 Buckle up. Second half is about to kick off. I wouldn’t hold my breathe for a comeback.

20:48 HT: Palace 2-0 Manchester United. Depressing.

20:44 We have nothing going for us at the moment and the football is dull. Call the season off early.

20:40 United losing 2-0 now. We look flat. Awful.

20:35 United needing a win tonight to move to sixth in the Premier League…

20:34 United work the ball forward better this time. Still no end product.

20:32 Not seen nowhere near enough of tonight’s midfield trio in the first half hour. Poor showing.

20:30 Eriksen free kicks sent into the box but it goes straight out for a goal kick. Henderson will be more than happy to retrieve another wasted free-kick.

20:27 Ball ends up in the Palace net. Hojlund collides with Henderson, who cries of being fouled inside the box by the Danish striker. Goal not given because strikers are forbidden from jumping for the ball.

20:26 Eriksen steps up. Sends his effort over the bar.

20:25 United have a free kick in a dangerous position. Foul on Garnacho.

20:24 Mateta has blocked Olise’s shot.

20:21 Our tempo is too slow. There is no intensity to our play and the team lacks any real structure. It could be a long night at Selhurst Park.

20:19 Palace are already showing that they want this more by winning every battle to the ball. Where is our determination? Their players are drawing fouls from Casemiro for fun.

20:17 In other words, our midfield was non-existent. We shouldn’t be surprised with Eriksen in the team.

20:16 Since Olise is being linked with a move to the club, people might get excited about him getting on the scoresheet (how weird?!) but let’s not forget how we made it super easy for him. The Palace no. 7 glided through our defence and had a clear shot at goal. It feels like we’re just asking to be punished.

20:12 Olise opens the scoring for Palace. Disaster start from the Reds. 1-0 behind early on

20:11 Still no clear-cut chance. Am I being impatient?

20:08 Cantona chants from the United end. Pure bliss!

20:06 United are trying to get the ball down to pass their way around Palace. The wet surface could make that tricky tonight but a nice touch from Mount.

20:04 Poor clearance from Onana.

20:02 Evans wins the ball cleanly inside the box. Referee ignores penalty shouts from Palace.

20:00 Kick-off is underway. Time will tell how Mount can perform in the team without Fernandes.

19:57 Ashley Young is in the Sky Sports studio with Jamie Carragher for tonight’s game. Ahead of the game they waxed lyrical over Palace duo Eze and Olise. The latter is being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer and scored a cracker against us last season. One, if not two players, to watch.

19:48 New technology is being trailed by the referee tonight. You can read about it here. Personally, I think Fergie was right all along about those officials. Now they are doing all they can to shift responsibility away from them.

19:44 Ten Hag on getting a result against Palace: “It is massive. We need to be in Europe, so we have two opportunities…”

19:28 Some numbers broken down by National World reporter Rich Fay. Since joining United from Sporting Lisbon, Fernandes has missed 13 of 243 matches (4 for suspension, 4 to be rested, 3 as an unused substitute, one because of illness and now one due to injury)

19:24 Ignore the last stat on Fernandes. It’s wrong but I still miss him dearly. *Apologies*

19:20 Tonight is the first senior club game of Bruno Fernandes’ career that he misses due to injury. Remarkable record.

19:16 Evening everyone and welcome to the live blog for Manchester United’s trip to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Our season, long since a disappointment, is now threatening to turn into a disaster. We’re currently eighth in the Premier League – but a win will see us jump to sixth. Hardly enough to crack open a bottle of champagne. Tonight’s fixture is not helping Erik ten Hag to keep his job. The same can be said for our remaining league matches. It doesn’t get easier after Palace who were less impressive at Fulham last weekend, but still managed to come away with a point. Their recent record, three wins and a draw, is much better than ours. Without Harry Maguire in defence, a lot of eyes will be on how United defend tonight. It doesn’t promise to be pretty with Jonny Evans returning from injury to partner Casemiro in the heart of defence. The Reds are also without Bruno Fernandes. Casemiro has been named captain for the night.
