Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on highly rated Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedragogo.
According to Sky Germany, Manchester United could be in the mix for ‘one of the biggest talents’ of his age in Europe. It’s big praise for a player that appears to be on his way out of Schalke.
Ouedragogo,17, returned from a four-month break due to a long-term injury in his syndesmotic ligament and earned a place back in the starting XI immediately. That is seemingly what set alarms off about his ability – as well as several impressive performances, of course.
It is suggested that United have sent scouts to watch Ouedragogo at various points since his return from long-term injury. The Reds had a scout in attendance to watch him for the game against Dusseldorf on April 27 in a game that finished 1-1.
Other clubs said to be interested are RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, VfB Stuttgart and Atalanta. It is believed the first two clubs listed have the best chance of landing Ouedragogo in the summer.
With Bayern Munich supposedly all over this one, not only does it explain why the youngster has had enough of Schalke, but it gives us a hint as to where he might be playing his football next season.
