Manchester United made hard work of their 4-2 win over Sheffield United.

The Reds controlled the game for the most part, but mistakes at the back continue to cost the team as they had to overcome an uphill climb to secure three points on the night.

Otherwise, the pressure on Erik ten Hag would reach new levels.

United had to equalise twice on the night before running away with the game in the latter stages of the second half.

Without further ado, here are our player ratings:

Andre Onana – 4

It was his mistake that gave Sheffield United a 1-0 lead. His misplaced pass led to Jayden Bogle’s golden opportunity and Onana was well-beaten for the second goal.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Played more like a midfielder than a full-back. Forced the goalkeeper to make a difficult save in the opening 30 seconds. Lost possession for Sheffield United’s second.

Casemiro – 6

Hardly troubled.

Harry Maguire – 8

Not only did Maguire score his second goal in as many games, the centre-back won the penalty that allowed Bruno Fernandes to equalise. Solid at the back.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5

Decent link up play but doesn’t give you much confidence going forward with the ball.

Christian Eriksen – 5

Had lots of the ball but lacked that killer pass. Could easily tell it was his first start since January.

Kobbie Mainoo – 7

Didn’t put a foot wrong in a more advanced role. Had a decent shot saved.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

Never gives up. The first half didn’t go his way, but Fernandes took his chances in his second half. I never doubt him from the penalty spot and tonight everyone could see why. The Portuguese Magnifico is our top scorer this season as things stand.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6

Missed a goal chance to make it 1-0 in the first half, but he never stopped running. Set up Maguire for his headed goal.

Antony – 5

Defensively sound but Antony needs to offer more in attack.

Rasmus Hojlund – 6

Quiet but took his goal well to make it 4-2.

Subs

Amad Diallo – 4

Quiet after his impressive cameo at Wembley against Coventry City.

Scott McTominay – 5

Added some much needed energy to our midfield.

Ethan Wheatley – 5

Proud to become United’s 250th youth team graduate. A fantastic milestone for the club.

Sofyan Amrabat – 4

One of his final appearances for the club.
