‘Has to learn a lot’ – Ten Hag ready to move on as Garnacho apologises for liking childish posts

Erik ten Hag has said Alejandro Garnacho has apologised for liking social media posts which criticised the Manchester United manager.

Garnacho, who has been one of United’s star players this season, was substituted at half-time following a poor display in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

A series of posts were shared by one infamous YouTuber after the match and they were liked by Garnacho’s account. The posts in question suggested Ten Hag had ‘thrown him under the bus’ by taking the Argentine winger off.

It created unnecessary drama but, thankfully, it has been dealt with by Ten Hag. The manager told reporters he now wants to ‘move on’ from the situation.

Hopefully, the 19-year-old has learned from his mistake and will be determined to put it behind him ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry at Wembley.

Asked if the incident could upset the dressing room, Ten Hag said (via Daily Mail): “I wouldn’t point to that. Alejandro is a young player, has to learn a lot.

“He apologised for it and after that we move on.”

Ten Hag is clearly satisfied that Garnacho apologised and ‘unliked’ the comments once made aware of how stupid it looked.

It felt too similar to the Jadon Sancho ordeal after the England winter criticised Ten Hag on social media after he was left out of a game at Arsenal earlier this season.
