Manchester United have included teenage forward Ethan Wheatley in their senior squad to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this evening.
Erik ten Hag’s side are looking to get back to winning ways against Bournemouth after dropping points in each of our last three league matches. That means our hopes of Champions League qualification are hanging by a thread, but we must try to win our remaining matches regardless because you never know what could happen Aston Villa and Tottenham.
However, United must improve on their recent form after drawing 2-2 with Liverpool last time out. They cannot afford a repeat of the reverse fixture which Bournemouth won 3-0.
The Reds need to do that without several key players due to injuries. They include Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans and Scott McTominay.
This means United will have to make up the numbers with academy talent to fill the matchday squad.
Who is Ethan Wheatley?
Ethan Wheatley is the player chosen to come into the squad to face Bournemouth this evening, as per Manchester World.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Stockport, plays as a centre-forward for the impressive U18s team. Wheatley has scored 18 goals and registered five assists across all competitions this season, including three goals at U21 level.
Wheatley has represented England at U17 level and signed his first professional contract at United in January.
