Today’s contest provides a chance for Erik ten Hag and his men to significantly dampen the Merseyside outfit’s title hopes, although, as it stands, that opportunity may be going amiss unless there’s a complete turnaround in the second half.
Samuel Luckhurst took to X to react to the derby’s affairs thus far, and singled out one Red for his below-par shift, sharing: “Liverpool thrashed United 1-0 that half. Not a single shot from United, who’ve conceded 15 shots at their goal. [Bruno] Fernandes particularly egregious”.
