Erik ten Hag’s injury crisis worsens as Marcus Rashford is forced off and replaced by Antony

In yet another Manchester United game, a player has had to be substituted due to an injury concern.

Marcus Rashford was shown walking gingerly across the Old Trafford pitch while the score was tied at 1-1 before signalling to the bench that he was unable to continue. He was subsequently replaced by Antony as he limped to the dugout.

Prior to kick-off, it was confirmed that Scott McTominay’s absence from the matchday squad was because of an unspecified fitness complaint, which – at the time – marked 56 separate cases of injury or illness that’s led to a United player missing at least one match.

It remains to be seen if Rashford’s issue could rule him out of any upcoming fixtures. The Reds are granted six days of rest until they take on Bournemouth away next Saturday, so the forward may have enough time to recover and train in time for the Cherries trip.
