The last international break of the season is upon us and we are keeping a close eye on Manchester United players in action.
A lot of our European players are preparing for Euro 2024 which takes place in Germany this summer.
Friday night was one to forget for Scotland as they suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against the Netherlands in Amsterdam. The Dutch followed up their first-half opener with three goals in the final 20 minutes.
Former Reds striker Wout Weghorst was among the goalscorers.
United midfielder Scott McTominay played the full 90 minutes for the away side, but they were unable to match the Dutch when it came to being clinical in front of goal. In other words, McTominay didn’t pack his shooting boots since Scotland relied on him for goals throughout the Euro 2024 qualification process.
Our representation continued on Friday night as Sofyan Amrabat lined up against Angola. Morocco suffered a 1-0 defeat and the United loanee was substituted after 74 minutes.
Elsewhere, in the early hours on Saturday morning, Argentina recorded a convincing 3-0 win over El Salvador. United starlet Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench for the second half after replacing Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez.
Garnacho played 45 minutes, registered one shot on target as well as recording two key passes, with a pass success rate of 90% (26/29). He would have hoped to have made a greater impact but we are sure he will get more opportunities to shine for the world champions.
