Eric Bailly shows admiration for one player as Liverpool crash out of FA Cup

Amad Diallo took his opportunity as he came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final.

The Ivory Coast international would have left Old Trafford feeling like a hero on Sunday. His goal means United have a Wembley semi-final to look forward to. Erik ten Hag deserves credit for bringing the winger on to make the difference with a 120th minute winner to seal a dramatic 4-3 victory.

Fellow Ivorian and former Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, who helped Amad settle in at the club, was delighted to see him score the winner against Liverpool.

Bailly shared an image via Instagram showing his admiration for Amad, along with heart, clapping and fire emojis.

Amad was sent for an early shower for taking his jersey off after scoring the match-winner. It was a second bookable offence, but the player didn’t look too bothered by that. He was busy soaking in the atmosphere after Old Trafford erupted.

The 21-year-old must serve a one-game suspension as a result. That means Amad will be unavailable for our next match against Brentford in the Premier League, although he will be able to play against Coventry City in the eagerly awaited semi-final.

Meanwhile, Bailly is enjoying his football at Villarreal – playing regularly and avoiding injury. Hopefully, that can continue because the centre-back has been unlucky with injuries for years.
