Dan Ashworth could bring Bruno Guimaraes to Manchester United with him from Newcastle, according to claims in Spanish media.

As is the case with a lot of transfer speculation, you can most of it with a pinch of salt.

Ashworth is set to become sporting director at United – moving from Newcastle, who may be forced to cash in on their most prized asset to fund further squad investment, so if you join the dots you’ll have a story.

Brazilian midfielder Guimaraes has been hugely impressive for Newcastle, and it would be a huge kick in the teeth for their fans to lose him to a bigger Premier League club.
