Man United learn price of 21-year-old Premier League transfer target

Manchester United are interested in signing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite this summer.

The young defender has impressed several clubs after his impressive performance this season.

Man United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are all monitoring the young Everton defender. They all are looking to sign a new defender this summer and they feel Branthwaite is the right player to invest money in.

Speaking with Keith Wyness, the former transfer head of Everton, who is likely familiar with the goings-on at Goodison Park, Football Insider has learned that the Toffees value central defender Jarrad Branthwaite at “sort of the £90m to £100m mark.”

The 21-year-old defender’s recent form has propelled him to the top of United’s shortlists in their search for a new centre-half, but the high asking price may deter them from making the move—though given Everton’s precarious financial position, maybe they’ll accept for somewhat less.

Real Madrid’s interest is also mentioned in the report, which may increase the price of the player.

After the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe at the club, United are expected to be active in the transfer market to strengthen all areas of weaknesses.

Ratcliffe is making changes at the club, with several incomings shortly expected in the non-playing staff.

Apart from signing a defender, Man United are looking to add attacking depth by signing a striker.

The possible departures of Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat may force United’s hand to sign a midfielder as well.

Players and non-playing staff may be accompanied by a new manager as well, with reports indicating that Erik ten Hag’s time at the club is likely to end soon.
