Manchester United XI vs Man City: Evans and McTominay start

Man City welcome Manchester United to the Eithad for the 192nd Manchester derby.

Erik ten Hag has named his team to face the current Premier League champions, who are in the hunt for a fourth consecutive title.

Andre Onana starts between the posts.

Diogo Dalot and Victor Lindelof will take up the full-back roles, while Jonny Evans will partner Raphael Varane at centre-back.

Kobbie Mainoo returns to the team to join Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in midfield. Another midfielder in the team is Scott McTominay, although it remains to be seen if he will play a more attacking role against City.

Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are being tasked with providing the goals this afternoon. The former has a point to prove.

Manchester United XI vs City: Onana; Dalot, Evans, Martinez, Lindelof; Casemiro, Mainoo, Fernandes; Garnacho, McTominay, Rashford.

United go into the game after winning 1-0 against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday night, which ensured progression to the quarter-finals of the competition, and today we want to build on that result.

City also progressed to the next round of the FA Cup after beating Luton Town.

The Reds are looking to record their first win at the Etihad since March 2021 when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge, and Ten Hag could do with a positive result today.

While Rasmus Hojlund and Lisandro Martinez travelled with the squad to the Etihad, neither of them were fit enough to make themselves available for the game itself.
